I Didn't Know If I Could Make It One Year.
When I started Zhen Day Spa & Beauty, I had limited English, couldn't drive, had very little money and was starting my life over.
I was scared. I cried. I questioned myself many times. But every day, I kept moving forward.
I didn't have everything figured out. I simply knew I wanted to build a better future.
Ten Years.
Ten Chapters.
One Journey.
Every year brought a new challenge, a new lesson and another reason to keep moving forward.
What began as one small dream became a ten-year journey of courage, growth, beauty, wellness and community.
The Courage to Begin
Limited English. No driving. Very little money. Newly divorced and trying to rebuild my life.
I didn't know exactly how I would make the business work. I only knew I couldn't give up on the dream.
Bigger Dreams, Bigger Challenges
The business began to grow. I moved into a bigger space and took on more responsibility.
Bigger space meant bigger bills, more employees, more marketing and more pressure.
Learning to Lead
Hiring employees, training people and managing different personalities taught me another important lesson.
Being good at your work does not automatically make you a good leader.
Growing Through Pressure
More clients brought more opportunity, but also more expenses and more problems to solve.
Business continued to test my patience, discipline and resilience.
The Year Everything Stopped
COVID forced the spa to close. The treatment rooms were empty. The income stopped, but the bills did not.
There were sleepless nights and moments when I didn't know whether the business would survive.
Rebuilding
Reopening did not mean everything immediately returned to normal.
Some clients were gone. Some employees had moved on. Some days were very quiet, but I kept opening the doors.
Building Myself, Too
I realized I could not build a healthy business while forgetting about myself.
I began focusing on health, education, personal growth and cosmetic science.
Becoming the CEO
Working harder could only take me so far.
I began learning business systems, leadership, marketing, networking and how to think differently as an owner.
The Dream Grew Bigger
The vision expanded beyond one spa.
I became an author, developed my own skincare products and stepped further into public speaking.
From Surviving to Building a Legacy
Ten years later, Zhen Day Spa & Beauty is more than the business I once hoped would survive its first year.
It has become a place for beauty, wellness, connection and community.

There were difficult days and moments when I wanted to give up. But clients believed in me. Friends helped me. My team grew with me, and San Antonio gave this dream a home.
